Kirsti

I began practicing over 20 years ago when I had a young family and would go to a regular yoga class several times a week mainly for relaxation and to have some time out for me!!

Years later, little did I realise it would become such a passion and that I would eventually go on to become a yoga teacher.

As far as qualifications, I completed a B ECE in 2011 followed by a 350hr YTT in 2020, and since then have done many short courses in Ayurvedic Yoga studies, Ayurvedic self-care and Aromatic Kinesiology.

My main love is weaving beautiful take home affirmations or stories for anyone who comes to my classes. I try to ensure there is something which may be useful for any student to take with them to consider throughout their day or week.

Krystal

Yoga and Pilates Teacher

I first began practicing yoga 17 years ago to help manage anxiety and fell in love with the practice.

I am drawn to the non-competitive nature of yoga and the way it brings my mind back to the present moment.

I am a proud Mum to three beautiful girls and a cheeky puppy named Luna.

Krystal’s passion for movement and health has led her to studies, she holds certifications in group fitness, chi ball, pilates, meditation, pregnancy specific exercise and yoga.

Yoga Teacher

I found solace in my yoga practice 2 year ago at a time when life felt like it was spiralling out of control.  Working full time, raising a young family and navigating ageing parents, I knew I needed to start taking just a moment for myself to breathe again and bring some balance back to my life, so I could continue supporting the ones I loved.

I’ve always had movement as part of my life, either through high energy dance or gym classes, however it was the slow and quietness of Yoga that really challenged me the most. To slow my mind, body and breath down ended up being where I found the most growth mentally and physically.

As my love for the Asana practice increased, so did my curiosity about the background, the science and philosophy of Yoga. So I followed the calling of Yoga and signed up to a yearlong, 500 hour YTT course which I completed this year.

Having a background in dance and love of movement and music, I hope to bring some of that connection of music and movement to my classes where you can forget the to-do list for an hour and get into a rhythmic flow within the mind, body and soul.

Andrew

Yoga Teacher

My “yoga journey” began many years ago in Darwin when I was working up there, spending lots of time sitting, talking and accumulating stress and noise in the body. I was lacking connection to nature and good food and yoga became the perfect antidote to these all too common features of modern life.

My practice began as a flowing vinyasa style, which built connection, focus, breath awareness and sweat! With continued practice came confidence and calmness which began to grow off the mat too.

My thirst for practice and knowledge draws me to workshops and trainings with senior teachers from home and abroad, and I just love getting into lively discussions with other yoga nerds!

Ive been very blessed to be informed/instructed by many wonderful yogis. My sincere wish is to share a modicum of that with you at Chi Kin!

When I’m not in the studio I’m out hiking at the gorge, or camping somewhere not too far away staring into the hot coals on a cool evening. Otherwise you’ll find me in the kitchen cooking up a vegan storm!

Justin

Yoga Teacher

I found yoga several years ago as a means to try and recover from a recurring back injury that left me barely able to walk at times. While the physical practice led to significant improvement with my back, the unexpected benefit that came along with that, was the mental clarity that I was going through life stuck in my head, rather than leading from the heart. What I discovered is that yoga is so much more than just making shapes with our bodies, it provides a toolbox to help build a better life.

Before yoga I had some experience with mindfulness meditation, particularly in how effective it could be in managing stress and anxiety. But coupling that with my yoga practice has brought a new sense of purpose, grounding, calm, self-awareness, but most of all, curiosity. That curiosity has inspired me to share the benefits of yoga to others, especially with other men, that they may also lead heart led lives.

While I will forever be a student of yoga, I am now also a dedicated yoga teacher. At the beginning of my teaching journey, I am passionate about creating a space for others to reconnect with themselves. With a focus on men’s mental health, I bring a grounded and compassionate approach to every class. My teaching comes from the heart, encouraging authenticity, presence, and a deeper sense of balance both on and off the mat.

My approach is heartfelt and supportive, encouraging students to move with presence while developing awareness and alignment in their practice. I invite you to slow down, connect with your breath, and reconnect with yourself in an authentic and meaningful way.

Grounded in compassion and curiosity, I create an inclusive and safe space for students to explore meditation, breath work, and asana as pathways to balance, and self-awareness.

This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you — from the heart.
